Novelties of the program of adobe Illustrator 9.0

This program which is used by millions graphic designers all over the world including in Russia, still is in leaders and provides all increasing requirements to programs of this class, and in many directions remains "fashion-maker". The area of its application is not restricted now only to vectorial illustrations, technical pictures, circuits and an information drawing, it is ready to work on multimedia front and was widely tore in world web WWW.

By means of the program of adobe Illustrator 9.0 it is possible to save vector images in vectorial formats which started to apply and in Web-Дийайне. The program supports as already enough known format Macromedia Flash (a file with swf extension), and rather new format SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics — "scalable vector graphics"), developed by consortium W3C (World Wide Web Consortium).

Both vectorial formats provide high-quality images for web design with usage of vector fonts and saving thus primary benefits of vectorial formats — the small sizes of files that in comparison with files of a pointwise drawing demands considerably smaller time for transmission on communication lines and loadings in programs. Format SVG, besides, supports font formats of adobe Type 1 and TrueType, the expanded markup language (XML — Extensible Markup Language), the cascade style sheets (CSS — Cascading Style Sheets) and dynamic HTML-animation. Together with Adobe Illustrator program addition (plug-in) SVG Viewer which can work with popular browsers is spread. Addition is necessary, if drawing review in format SVG or web pages with interactive elements is required.

The possibility of usage of vectorial formats specified above for web design yet did not find a wide circulation, it represents sufficiently exotic and characterizes in general "the advanced" web designers.

The majority of images for layout on web pages is as before pointwise formats in this connection it is extremely useful to estimate the operation in advance and to see result of forthcoming rasterization. For this purpose Adobe Illustrator program allocates special mode Pixel Preview (Display in пикселах) (fig. 1.3) — display of the document in the form of the point image. Operation in this mode helps to consider, in particular, singularities of smoothing of circuits (anti-aliasing).

New method of creation of effects

In the given version of the program of adobe Illustrator the new approach to creation of the effects, reminding set-up layers (Adjustment layers) in Adobe Photoshop program is provided. These commands are allocated in menu Effect (Effect), they can be applied to vectorial objects, the pointwise drawing and fonts.

Oсновным advantage of these effects is possibility of the further editing, scaling. The effect can even be deleted needlessly again to create source object, for example, command Convert to Shape (to Transform to the form) allows to convert graphic objects in changeable square-topped and elliptic forms which can be useful at creation of buttons for web pages (fig. 1.4).

Other commands, for example Stylize (Stylization) of menu Effect (Effect), are intended for assignment of parameters of "exterior appearance" (appearance), in particular, drop shadow parameters (fig. 1.5) either glow to immediately font or a graphic object with ability saving to be exposed to editing of vectorial objects.

Automatic layout of objects on layers

New command Release to Layers (to Transform to layers) allows to allocate set of objects, for example transformation group (blend), on automatically created set of separate layers. This procedure is preparation for creation of vectorial animation (in format SWF) or pointwise animation (in format GIF), allocated on web pages.
