CHAPTER 13
THE INFORMATION DRAWING (CHART)
In the modern advertizing for which constant reversal not only to feeling of the spectator, but also to its reason is characteristic, various charts and schedules are often enough used.
And it concerns not only advertizing, for example, the ADP equipment turned really to people understanding and appreciating is sensible the interpreted information, but even advertizing, say, a chewing gum (without which, as it is known, "the kislotno-alkaline balance" is broken).
Adobe Illustrator program allocates the special tool which allows at reasonable usage to create laconic, elegant and competent charts.
Types of charts
One of important points at creation of charts consists in their fair idea of "indicative abilities". The chart Type selection depends substantially on a type numeral "information and tasks which is laid to it: comparing of the separate data, the speaker of one or several processes and etc.
Adobe Illustrator program offers nine types of charts on a choice.
 |
Type Column (Vertical bands) — the vertical strip chart, which task to display for comparing two or more values by means of the bands which length is proportional to value (fig. 13.1). This type of the chart can be used, for example, for comparing of various groups of the population for different years. |
 |
Type Stacked Column (Vertical stack) ~ - the conjoint vertical strip chart, which task to display for comparing not only two or more values by means of bands but to show a ratio of these bands to whole (fig. 13.2). It is possible to use, for example, day of comparing of various groups of the population not only in different years, but also in relation to the total of these groups. |

Type Bar (Horizontal bands) — the same type of the chart, as Column (Vertical bands), but allocated horizontally (fig. 13.3). This type can be used for comparing of the several values connected to temporal parameters, for example, comparing of high-speed performance of processors of computers. |

Type Stacked Bar (Horizontal stack) — the same type of the chart, as Stacked Column (the Vertical stack), but allocated horizontally (fig. 13.4). This type can be used for comparing of the several values connected to temporal parameters, for example, comparing of high-speed performance of computers taking into account the contribution of the processor, reversal to disks and etc. |
 |
Type Une (the Linear schedule) — the line chart, which task to display dynamics of change of the discrete values in certain intervals of time (fig. 13.5). This type of the chart is often used, for example, for representation of dynamics of exchange rate. |
 |
Type Area (the Additive schedule) • — the planar chart based on linear, but with that difference that the area under each line also has semantic value (fig. 13.6). This type can be used, for example, for representation of goods turnover of the various countries. The total area will correspond to the general goods turnover. |
 |
Type Scatter (Dot chart) — the chart of dispersion which can be applied to display of the data deviating any value (fig. 13.7). |

Type Pie (Pie chart) — the pie chart which can be applied to display of percentage of components in relation to whole (fig. 13.8). |

Operation with charts
By operation with charts it is necessary to mean some general provisions, uniform charts for all types.
After chart creation, it represents set of bunched objects which can be treated as normal vectorial objects, i.e. to change all accessible parameters, and also to move and transform all of them accessible means.
 |
Nota Bene. However it is necessary to mean that after performance of command Ungroup to (Group) menu Object (Object) begins impossible again to edit the chart, i.e. objects cease to be parts of the uniform chart. About methods of selection of separate objects look in chapter 5. |
At input of new initial digital media the chart is automatically rebuilt, though, unfortunately, it eliminates all changes connected to exterior design (color, type size and etc.), and returns the chart to a type by default.
