If it is necessary to install within one sheet some labels of a sawn-off shotgun (for example, at printing of cards) it is fulfilled as it is described in chapter 15. Before sending the document on printout of color-splitted bands, it is necessary to install color separation parameters (a raster lineature, a positive or a negative, the press under a sawn-off shotgun and etc.).
Color separation parameters are saved in a document file, and at document discovery at which such parameters are not saved, the program recovers default arguments.
Dialog box of setting of parameters of a color separation (fig. 16.9) it is possible to cause immediately command Separation Setup (color separation Parameters) menu File (File) or in dialog box Print to (Print) button Separation Setup (color separation Parameters) which is accessible only at an active-HQM the PostScript-printer.
To define the exterior device on which color-splitted bands will be received, it is necessary to connect file PPD (PostScript Printer Description — a file with the description of parameters of the specific PostScript-printer or the phototypesetting automatic machine). The information on the output device is stored In such files (with ppd extension), including its resolution, formats of pages, possible lineatures and so forth
With the program such files which are saved at installation in a folder/Utilities/PPD are delivered some.

In the left part of dialog box Separations (Color separation) — a review window in which the document and the auxiliary elements is displayed: scales, labels приводки and sawn-off shotgun labels.
In a review window possibility of change of the size of a dimensional rectangle, and also relocation of all set of objects is provided.
Group Margins (Fields) serves for determination of the general graphic field conditionally displayed in a window of review by means of a rectangle which in corners and on the sides has markers. This rectangle coincides with sawn-off shotgun labels.
Values in fields Left (At the left), Right (On the right), Torahs (On top) and Bottom (From below) provide layout of the image within page, namely distances from page borders to the image. The point of the beginning of coordinates is by default installed in the lower left corner of page.
Image boxes can be changed and interactive, moving rectangle markers in a review window. At layout of the cursor within a dimensional rectangle relocation of objects is provided.

Groups Options (Parameters) it is possible to select a variant which defines from list Separate (to Deduce on a color separation), what layers to deduce on a color separation: Prixtable, Viable Layers (Printing, visible layers), Visible Layers (Visible layers) and ДВ Layers (All layers).
By default Adobe Illustrator program generates цветоделениые bands for all colors which are assumed by the given document, in the list.цветоделенных bands the printer icon means, for what color of a band color-splitted bands will be deduced on the printer. If the output only certain color-splitted bands click on an icon the press of unnecessary bands can be disconnected is required.
Normally a color separation is fulfilled on four полифафические colors but if in the document are available плашечные colors they can be converted in model CMYK or are deduced by separate prints. For determination of this alternative flag Convert to Process (All three-adnymj) which setting provides converting плашечного colors in triad to what changeover of an icon of the printer by a small square with four colors (the Icon трйадных colors) testifies is used.
To convert separate плашечный color in triad colors, it is necessary to remove flag Convert to-Process (All triad) and to click on a printer icon in line specific плашечного colors. A place of an icon of the printer the icon трйадных colors (occupies fig. 16.10).

In uncovered list Halftone (Raster) of dialog box Separation (Color separation) is offered a dial-up of lineatures (measured in Ipi — lines on inch) and resolutions (measured in dpi — dots per inch), accessible to the current printer or the phototypesetting automatic machine. Bolshee value of a lineature corresponds to better quality of the image though this value should be coordinated with experts of printing house as image quality is influenced still by set of factors which cannot be considered, without knowing specific conditions of the polygraphic press.
Files PPD for phototypesetting automatic machines of high resolution offer normally wide spectrum of ratios of lineatures and resolutions. Files PPD for phototypesetting automatic machines of low resolution or printers have only two-three variants in a range from 53 to 85 Ipi.
For setting of the arbitrary value of a lineature for separate tsvetode-lennoj bands it is necessary to select her name in the list, and then in fields Frequency (Lineature) and Angle (Corner) to define necessary values of a lineature and raster slope angle.

Nota Bene. It is necessary to mean only that in file PPD the optimized values of lineatures and slope angles of a raster for the given output device which change of value can be fraught with the considerable errors of the press (in particular, appearance of a stray pattern — moire) are presented. |
By default Adobe Illustrator program uses the page sizes defined by a PPD-file of the installed printer. The user can change page sizes, selecting other variant from list Page, Size (Format) of dialog box Separations (Color separation). The sizes of pages have standard names, for example, А4. The sizes resulted in brackets, designate parameters of a printing field.
At a page size choice it is necessary to pay attention on з (ти parameters, differently sawn-off shotgun labels, приводки and other extremely important auxiliary information can appear not printed.

Marks (Labels by default) the output to the printer together with the image and a dial-up of standard polygraphic labels provides. Unfortunately, the program does not offer possibility of a choice of labels.
Labels приводки (registration marks) and мирры приводки (star targets) serve for support and control of accuracy of combination of colourful prints.
Text marks display a file name, value of a lineature and slope angle of a raster and a color title on each color-splitted print.
Sawn-off shotgun labels serve for adjustment гильотинных knifes which fulfill a final cropping of page.
Scales serve for control of the press of separate and composite colors.
Stage 7. Saving цвето деленных bands and the press
After setting of all parameters of a color separation the document can be deduced on a paper or on a film in the form of the several color-splitted bands supplied with all necessary control marks and the text information.
For this purpose it is necessary to execute command Print to (Print) menu File (File) which displays dialog box Print to (Print). (Color separation) it is necessary to select variant Separate From list Output (Yes). About remaining setting of this dialog box look in chapter 15.
Besides, the color-splitted information can be saved for the subsequent color separation in a service bureau or in printing house. For this purpose it is necessary to (Print) in dialog box Print to install flag Print to File (to Print in a file). About remaining setting of this dialog box look in chapter 15.
