Adobe Gamma program

For the purpose of achievement большего correspondences of colors of the monitor to natural colors it is necessary to fulfill monitor calibration. If there is no possibility to use the specialized program of calibration with appropriate hardware support it is possible to fulfill calibration by means of the unit applied on the program of adobe Photoshop, — Adobe Gamma.

Nota Bene. It is necessary to mean that is not recommended to use simultaneously various systems or calibration methods.

Before the calibration beginning it is necessary to allow to the monitor to work during a half an hour so that monitor operation was stabilized. It is necessary to provide that lighting at which the most responsible operation (anyway not a bulb on duty is fulfilled).

After that it is possible to launch Adobe Gamma utility which icon is in a window the Control bar (Control Panel) (fig. 4.12).

This utility is intended for determination of contrast and brightness, gamma, color balance, and also a white point of the monitor. The correct setting allows to provide the maximum neutrality of gray shades. Saving 1СС a profile gives the chance to use it for adjustment of other monitors and support of identical display of documents.

After start of the utility of adobe Gamma on the screen it is deduced with the same name дналоговое a window (fig. 4.13).

Switch Step By Step (Step by step adjustment) provides step by step adjustment of a profile of the monitor, and switch Control Panel (the Controlling panel) displays a dialog box (fig. 4.21), in which cобраны together all adjustments. Click on button Next deduces (Further) the first of Adobe Gamma Wizard windows (fig. 4.14).

Button Load to (Load) allows to use the profile of the monitor delivered by the vendor. Some of them are presented in folder Windows/System/Color.

In the next window (fig. 4.15) is not present setting, but it is required to define brightness and contrast of the monitor by means of monitor control buttons.

(Fig. 4.16) in list Phosphors (Picture tube) it is necessary to select type of the used monitor from a following window. If of this kind in the list is not present, but the user allocates monitor technical data, it is necessary to select variant Custom (Another).

On the screen dialog box Custom Phosphors (Other picture tube) (fig. 4.17) in which it is possible to enter parameters of a color rendition of the monitor for each of primary colors is deduced.

In a dialog box. (Fig. 4.18) is defined gamma for a gray component at installed flag View Single Gamma Only (Only the general gamma) or for three components ~ at the removed.

(Fig. 4.19) is selected from a following dialog box a white point of the monitor. This setting defines character of white color on the monitor screen. Button Measure (Measurement) displays three squares which color parameters it is possible to measure in the presence of the appropriate equipment.

The dialog box (fig. 4.20) allows to save the changed setting and thus to receive a color profile which can be used for calibration of other monitor.

Switch Control Panel (the Controlling panel) Adobe Gamma dialog box displays a dialog box (fig. 4.21) in which all adjustments are collected together.

Button Wizard returns to step by step adjustment of parameters.
