Obtaining of updates from Adobe Online service

One of advantages of usage InDesign is modularity of the given program. It means that you can receive updates or changeovers of various parts of the program from the Adobe company through network Internet. For the job of options of obtaining of updates adobe Online Preferences adjustments are used.

Adjustment of parameters of mode Online

1. Execute commands Edit-> Preferences-> Online Settings (Editing-> Setting-> Adjustments Online) (Mac OS 9 or Win). On the screen there will be Adobe Online Preferences dialog box (fig. 19.51).

Execute commands InDesign-> Preferences-> Online Settings (Mac OS X).

2. Select one of options of menu Update Options (update Parameters) - fig. 19.52.

3. Specify refresh rate in menu Check for updates to (Update):

- Never (Never) - disconnects an option of automatic update;

- Once a Day (Daily), Once a Week (Weekly) or Once a Month (Monthly) - automatic connection with Adobe Online on the specified frequency.

Selecting option Never, can produce manually update InDesign by means of button Updates.

Well studying various commands InDesign, can start to use the keyboard shortcuts of fast access corresponding most often to commands used by you. For example, instead of usage of the mouse for a choice of command File-> Place faster and is easier to push keyboard shortcut Cmd/Ctrl+D.
