Adjustment of category Dictionary

Category Dictionary (Dictionary) is intended for a choice of the language used by default, and adjustment of additional parameters of transfer (fig. 19.39). Adjustments Language (Language) are used for spell check, and also arrangement of transfers and inverted commas (fig. 19.40).

Adjustment of options of language

1. Select language used by default from menu Language.

If want to select other languages, it is necessary to reinstall program InDesign from an install compact disk

2. If you installed special options of transfer, mark them in menu Hyphenation (Transfer).

3. If you installed special options of spell check, select them from menu Spelling (Spelling).

4. Select characters of double quotes from menu Double Quotes (Double quotes).

5. Select characters of single quotes from menu Single Quotes (Single quotes).

Menu Quotes contains the inverted commas used in various languages, for example in Spanish and French you can enter the special characters in the field (rice 19.41)

Adjustments Hyphenation Exceptions (transfer Exception to the rules) allow to apply the transfers created at editing of the dictionary (the section «Control of arrangement of transfers» in chapter 15 see) or built in application.

Adjustment of exceptions to the rules of transfers

Select one of following options from menu Compose Using (to Arrange, using) - fig. 19.42:

• User Dictionary (the Dictionary of the user) - only the exceptions set at editing of the dictionary;

• Document (Document) - the list of the exceptions containing in the document (how to add exceptions to the rules of transfer from the dictionary of the user in the document, see in following section);

• User Dictionary and Document (the Dictionary of the user and the document) - simultaneous usage of exceptions to the rules of transfer and the dictionary of the user. This option is installed by default.

Adjustments User Dictionary allow to add exceptions to the rules of transfer to the publication and to create the new exceptions spread to it (fig. 19.43).

Parameters of the dictionary of the user

1. Flag Merge User Dictionary into Document (to Add the dictionary пользовате ля in the document) is intended for adding in the publication of exceptions to the rules of the transfers collected in the dictionary. The option is installed by default.

More often this option is applied by transmission of document InDesign to service bureau to the press

2. Flag Recompose All Stories When Modified (to Rearrange all text units at modification) serves for application of new exceptions of the dictionary of the user to all text units of the document.
