Usage of tools Zoom and Hand

Tool Zoom (Scale) allows to achieve the given magnification and position at page. By means of tool Hand (Hand) it is possible to drift display area.

Tool Zoom application

1. Click on tool Zoom on a toolbar (fig. 2.31). The cursor becomes a magnifier.
2. Click tool Zoom on area which want to increase. Click until achieve necessary magnification.

Push keys Cmd/Ctrl+probel that the current tool temporarily became tool Zoom.

Each click by tool Zoom changes scale according to value in the menu of a choice of scale.

For scale reduction push key Opt/Alt at selected tool Zoom. The tag in a magnifier exchanges from plus (+) on a minus (-).

The real size of display (100 %) is set by double click on tool Zoom in a palette.

Quick keys for scale change

Because of enough frequent usage of commands of review appropriate quick keys here are resulted. These combinations can be seen also in menu View.

Commands for Macintosh

To increase scale Cmd + =

To reduce scale Cmd+дефис

To display all page Cmd+0

To display all turn Cmd+Opt+0

The real size Cmd+1

Commands for Windows

To increase scale Ctrl + =

To reduce scale Ctrl+дефис

To display all page Ctrl+0

To display all turn Ctrl+Alt+0

Change of scale by means of selected area allows to achieve desirable result quickly.

Magnification of area of the publication

Drag tool Zoom on a diagonal through area which want to see in the increased scale. That the area increased, release the mouse button (fig. 2.32 and 2.33).

You also can use tool Hand (sometimes named Grabber) for document relocation. It is more floppy tool, than scroll bars.

Tool Hand usage

1. Click on a tool icon in a toolbar (fig. 2.34).
2. Move page in a document window by means of tool Hand for display of various areas of the publication.

To display in a window all page, click two times on tool Hand on a toolbar.

Retain pushed a gap key temporarily to replace the current tool with tool Hand.

As it has already been told, you can select tool Hand by means of a gap key. If you are in the text frame, gap key press adds gaps in the text. However there is the special reception, allowing to select the tool, without creating superfluous gaps.

Choice of tool Hand from the text unit

1. Retain pushed key Cmd/Ctrl. The cursor takes the form of tool Selection (the Black arrow) or Direct Selection (the White arrow).
2. Without releasing key Cmd/Ctrl, push a gap key. The cursor takes the form of tool Zoom.
3. Release key Cmd/Ctrl. The gap key remains pushed, but tool Hand will be thus selected.
