Text entering

Two most important operations with the text are input and its selection for editing.

Typing

  1. Click the tool Round in the frame.
  2. Begin text entering.
  3. Push ENTER key or Return to begin the new paragraph.

    Or

    Push keys Shift+Enter/Return to begin a new line, without creating the new paragraph.

In program InDesign passage of the text to a new line in the text frame is carried out automatically.

In case the text frame does not contain all text, there will be an overflow character (fig. 3.12) to eliminate overflow, can change the form of the frame or redirect the text to other frame

To add the text in already typed paragraph, install the text cursor there where you want to type the new text. Text the cursor to find easily - it blinks (fig. 3.13).

Relocation of the text cursor

  1. Install the cursor of the tool Round there where you want to add the text.
  2. Click the mouse that the cursor appeared in a proper place.

Relocation of the text cursor by means of keypad keys

  1. By means of keys with arrows move the text cursor on one character to the left and to the right and on single line upwards and downwards.
  2. Retaining pushed key Cmd/Ctrl at a choice of keys with arrows, move the cursor on a word to the right and to the left and on the paragraph upwards and downwards.
