Types of frames Frames are containers where the drawing or the text is located. Frames can be used also as graphic forms. There are three types of frames which you can create empty, graphic and text. Empty frames Empty frames form by means of tools Rectangle (Rectangle), Ellipse (Ellipse) and Polygon (Polygon). These frames are useful in that case when you want to add color or a border in any area without an insertion of the graphic character or the text. The selected empty frames represent the frame with labels-terminators (fig. 4.1). Graphic frames Graphic frames form by means of tools Rectangle Frame (the Square-topped frame), Ellipse Frame (the Oval frame) and Polygon Frame (the Polygonal frame) - see the following section. At creation of the graphic frame diagonal lines in it specify that you can interpose into the frame a graphic element (fig. 4.1). You can interpose into graphic frames not only images, but also a text line Text frames Text frames form by means of the tool Round (Text) or by conversion of two other types of frames. When you create the text frame, on its sides in addition to labels-delimiters appear дн the communication indicator. Besides, when Tex товые frames are selected, in them отображг ется the blinking insertion point (fig. 4.1). Assignment of diagonal lines in graphic frames Diagonal lines in the graphic frame have been borrowed from traditional drawing on a paper. In dummy layouts artists often crossed diagonal lines of a zone to show that in them the photo or a graphic element will be allocated. Electronic programs of imposition, such as QuarkXPress and Adobe InDesign, are based on the same principle. Diagonal lines specify, where the scanned images or a drawing should be interposed. However there is no rule which would order to allocate in graphic frames only images. You can allocate the text in graphic frames or images - in empty. A choice for you. Fig. 4.1.
